The State of World Liberty Project is an organization that monitors the level of individual and economic freedom and limited government in countries around the world. The 2006 State of World Liberty Index is a compilation of data from four noted freedom indices into one index, breaking down countries into three categories, individual liberty, economic liberty and government size and power. We are also working to become a resource on the progress of libertarian and free market liberal political movements by creating a growing directory of libertarian parties and caucii around the world and collecting electoral and political news from these groups. We also hope to build an international forum for discussion for people involved in these movements.

The State of World Liberty Project was founded in 2006 by Nick Wilson, an activist and co-founder of the Libertarian Reform Caucus, an organization working to turn the United States Libertarian Party into a viable political party. The SoWLP was founded after Wilson compiled the first State of World Liberty Index upon realizing that the libertarian and free market liberal movements of the world lack a unified forum. He began the organization with the idea of connecting party members and movements via the internet and information.

The SoWLP is a new organization, and, as you can tell, we are still getting organized! If you like what we are doing, why don't you volunteer with us? We need people who are interested in the progress of various free market liberal and libertarian parties across the globe, to add to our party directory and political news. Or perhaps you would be interested in helping translate the site into different languages. We are not taking any money at this time, so we do not have "jobs," but if you would like to donate your time, we would greatly appreciate your help. Contact us at contact@stateofworldliberty.org with the "Volunteer" in the subject line. Thanks!
